“I don’t think it would’ve changed much had Arnautovic scored the penalty. Empoli played with greater intensity and courage than us. We were caught napping and were very poor today. Errors can and do happen but we must not get our attitude wrong. Anybody can beat anybody this season, so you get punished if you aren’t playing with the maximum intensity. I repeated this all throughout the week and it was for nothing. If the attitude was wrong then I’m at fault because I couldn’t get the team ready. We have too many highs and lows; nobody can justify this today. I am sorry for the fans that travelled with us and for the president. I’m really disappointed.”
