Long-time Mexico international and Club América defender Miguel Layún wants to move to Major League Soccer in 2023 upon the expiration of his contract.
Layún has had the opportunity to play in four different countries throughout his career (Mexico, Portugal, England, and Spain) and is looking for a new challenge.
“Yes, I see myself playing in the MLS, for sure. My contract is going to end this December so why not?” he told TUDN.
“Next season, would play in the MLS? I don’t know, let’s see. I want to try the MLS to be honest, it will be interesting for me.”
The 34-year-old has featured 12 times in Liga MX this season (five starts), dishing out four assists in the process.
