The 2021 Concacaf Champions League finally knows its finalists, América and Rayados after Monterrey defeated Cruz Azul 4-1 to win 5-1 on aggregate.
Although they won’t face off until October 27th, a great winner has already been determined.
Defender Miguel Layún will make off like a bandit without being able to play in the final, regardless of who wins the title.
Layún was registered with Rayados and featured twice early on in the competition, even scoring against the Columbus Crew.
Although Layún would not receive a champion’s medal should the Eagles win the title, he would ensure his place in the next edition of the Club World Cup.
This means he will be awarded prize money no matter what. Not a bad deal if you ask us.
