Club América head back to the Estadio Azteca with work to do after losing 1-0 to Chivas in the first leg of the Liguilla quarter-finals on Wednesday.
After the match, manager Miguel Herrera touched on his disappointment but didn’t shy away from the idea that América can turn things around at home.
“The truth is that we should have scored in the first half, we had some clear opportunities and we didn’t make them,” he said.
“I am leaving with the peace of mind that the team did a good job, we lacked the force because we had it and we did not know how to achieve it, but now we must work the game.”
Still, Herrera remained confident that the club will bounce back.
“Now we go home, we will give everything to achieve the result.”
“We know that we have a great squad and we are going to kill each other in the game.”
The second leg kicks off on 28 November.
