Newcastle have been handed another squad blow as Miguel Almirón is set for a spell on the sidelines.
The news comes after Paraguay manager Guillermo Barros Schelotto revealed the 29-year-old was not selected for intentional duty due to injury.

“Miguel Almiron was injured yesterday and will be out for three weeks and it is not necessary for him to come,” he said.
“We received the report from his club (Newcastle United) and we saw the video of the injury.”
It’s a huge blow for the Magpies, as Almirón leads their attack this season with 11 goals in 25 Premier League appearances.
He will subsequently miss Newcastle’s trip to Nottingham Forest Friday evening as the club looks to make a push for Champions League football.
