Youssouf Fofana is prioritising a transfer to AC Milan this summer despite interest in the midfielder from the Premier League.
Fofana is set to leave AS Monaco after entering the final 12 months of his contract with the principality club and has attracted interest from across Europe.
Arsenal, Manchester United and Tottenham have been credited with interest in signing the France international, while West Ham have also been linked with the 25-year-old.
However, Fabrizio Romano is reporting that AC Milan have reached a complete agreement with Fofana on personal terms, with the player’s agent having informed Monaco of the discussions.
The two teams will now look to agree a fee for the midfielder, who made three substitute appearances during France’s run to the semi-finals at Euro 2024.
Fofana ranked second in Ligue 1 last season for progressive passes and fourth for passes into the final third and through balls.
His arrival will be a major boost for the Rossoneri amid interest from the Premier League, with Milan set to miss out on the signing of Bologna forward Joshua Zirkzee to Manchester United.
