Blackburn Rovers midfielder Emma Doyle has signed professional terms with the club for next season according to reports on Rovers’ official website.

The 22-year-old was one of several players brought to The Sir Tom Finney Stadium by Blackburn Rovers boss Gemma Donnelly in summer 2020. Doyle has made 24 appearances for Blackburn Rovers in the FA Women’s Championship.

The midfielder missed most of the action this season after sustaining an Anterior Cruciate Ligament (ACL) injury early in the campaign. Doyle is edging closer to fitness and she will again be part of manager Donnelly’s plans for next season after signing a new deal.

Doyle spent her youth in the academy system at Barclays FA Women’s Super League club Everton. She joined The Blue Girls at the age of 12 before going on to make her senior debut in a 3-1 home victory over Yeovil Town in 2018. The player was a regular for Everton in the WSL Academy League during her time on Merseyside.

The midfielder is the fourth Blackburn Rovers player to agree professional terms with the Lancashire club for next season. Goalkeeper Alex Brooks and defenders Hannah Coan and Helen Seed have also signed professional deals with Blackburn Rovers for 2022/2023 in recent weeks.
