According to AS, Getafe are preparing to replace head coach José Bordalás.
Los Azulones have been in freefall this season, currently sitting just three points above the relegation zone in 14th place.
Despite the January loan signings of Take Kubo and Carles Aleñá from Real Madrid and Barcelona respectively, Bordalás has failed to turn things around. Getafe have become famous for their solidity, however, this season they have been defensively poorer than ever under the 56-year-old coach.
Sacking the man from Alicante would cost Getafe €3 million, but according to AS, former Getafe boss Míchel, 57, is favourite to take over at the Colisuem Alfonso Pérez.
Míchel saved the club from relegation twelve years ago, when he replaced manager Víctor Muñoz with five games to go at the end of the season. There are currently 14 games remaining in the 2020/21 season and club president Ángel Torres could be set to fire one of the club’s greatest ever coaches.
