Michael Zorc’s long-standing link with Borussia Dortmund could come to an end when his contract expires in 2021.
Zorc spent 17 years as a player with the Schwarzgelben before hanging up his boots in 1998 and becoming the club’s sporting director.
But his 39-year association with the eight-time German champions could, according Kicker, be entering its final stretch.
They say that Zorc is leaning towards leaving next year when his current contract comes to an end.
Although there has been no official word from either Zorc or Dortmund, it’s claimed that the former midfielder wants to leave his position before chief executive Hans-Joachim Watzke’s contract expires in 2022.
Dortmund are currently fourth in the Bundesliga, seven points behind leaders RB Leipzig and face Augsburg this weekend in their first game back after the winter break.
