Former England international Michael Owen thinks that Liverpool will defeat Manchester United in the FA Cup at Old Trafford on Sunday.

The two English sides locked horns with each other last weekend at Anfield, hoping to bolster their claims on the Premier League title this season.

However, the important fixture failed to live up to expectations as both teams played out a dull and uneventful 0-0 draw on Merseyside.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side created two big chances in the game but they couldn’t break the deadlock with Alisson Becker superb between the sticks.

The Red Devils went on to beat Fulham 2-1 at Craven Cottage in midweek, while Liverpool suffered a shock 1-0 home defeat against Burnley.

However, Owen believes Jurgen Klopp’s side will put their current league form behind them to claim a big win against United.

“We could see quite a change in line-ups and possibly tactics,” he told BetVictor (as per The Mirror). “Last week’s match was a highly tactical affair and, out of the two teams, United would’ve probably been happier after 90 minutes.

“Now in the cup, I think this could pan out differently. With United at home, I don’t think they’ll be willing to give up as much territory to Liverpool as they did at Anfield.

“If that materialises and United truly have a go, it could leave the door wide open for Liverpool to capitalise on the counter.

“With that in mind, I reckon Liverpool will get through by the narrowest of margins.”

The FA Cup fourth round also sees Arsenal taking on Southampton, Manchester City travelling to Cheltenham Town, Chelsea facing Luton Town and Tottenham Hotspur locking horns with Wycombe Wanderers this weekend.
