Michael Olunga joins Al Arabi SC
It's now official. Kenya captain Michael Olunga has signed with Al Arabi SC on a two-year contract. The Qatari club confirmed the news this Saturday, July 5, in an official statement.
Free agent after his departure from Al Duhail SC, Michael Olunga joins the Doha-based club, putting an end to weeks of speculation about his next destination. In their statement, the club expressed its excitement:
Al Arabi Sports Club is pleased to announce the signing of Kenyan striker Michael Olunga on a two-year contract.
At 31 years old, the Harambee Stars' captain leaves behind a remarkable legacy at Al Duhail. Over three seasons, he won the Qatar league title, led the team to the Asian Champions League semi-finals, clinched two top scorer awards, and set a club record with 130 goals in all competitions.
Al Arabi, already calling him the "people's striker," hopes to rely on his lethal finishing to shine both domestically and on the continental stage.
