Michael Olise and Bradley Barcola ahead of Jérémy Doku on Manchester City shortlist | OneFootball

In the wake of Riyad Mahrez’s departure from Saudi Arabia, last year’s treble winners Manchester City are looking to bring in a replacement for the former Le Havre man. One of the possible candidates, as reported by Fabrizio Romano last week, is Rennes’ Jérémy Doku.

The other two options on the Premier League side’s shortlist also have links to French football – namely, Crystal Palace’s French youth international Michael Olise, and Lyon forward Bradley Barcola.

Les Gones rejected a proposal from Paris Saint-Germain earlier this summer, but it remains to be seen whether they would also push back an offer from a club outside of Ligue 1. The forward impressed in the second half of last season alongside Alexandre Lacazette, scoring five times and registering nine assists.

Both Olise and Barcola are under contract with their respective clubs until 2026, while the latter is now represented by Jorge Mondes. Both are ahead of Doku in the shortlist, as a result of concerns on the part of the Premier League champions over the Belgian forward’s fitness issues in the past few seasons.
