Charlton Athletic’s mixed form continued last night with a 1-0 victory over Forest Green Rovers away from home.
Corey Blackett-Taylor’s 12th minute strike was the difference between the two sides on the scoreline come the full time whistle, with the Addicks taking all three points back to London.
With those three points, Dean Holden’s side moved up to 11th in the League One standings.
There were further positives for the club on the night, too, with January recruit Michael Hector finally making his first team debut for the club.
Indeed, it seems as though the experienced defender enjoyed being back in competitive action, too, with the 31-year-old issuing a short but sweet two-word response to his debut for the club – “⚽️❤️👊🏽 missed it.”
Hector joined the Addicks on a six month deal back in January having been a free agent since last summer following his exit from Fulham.
Clearly he was buzzing to be back in competitive football action, which backs up what he said when he signed for the club last month.
At that time, he told Charlton club media: “It feels great to be a Charlton player,”
“The boys seem like a good bunch and I’ve settled in nicely.

“I’ve always enjoyed playing at The Valley. Every time I’ve played at The Valley it has been at night and it almost feels like a European night.
It’s always a decent atmosphere, obviously being a home player it will be a different experience and it’s one I’m really looking forward to.”
What a huge positive for Charlton to have Michael Hector finally make his club debut last night.
Given his experience of football at a higher level, he should be a really good signing for the Addicks over this next six months.
Perhaps the only concern over him was how long he had been out for and therefore how long it may take him to get up to speed.
However, having already made his club debut, it appears the answer was not very long.
It’ll be interesting to see how he does with Charlton for the remainder of the season.
