Michael Fabbri will officiate tonight’s game between AC Milan and Cagliari at Unipol Domus. As always, let’s take a look at the Rossoneri’s record with the referee.
Milan experienced a big confidence boost earlier this week thanks to the impressive performance against Real Madrid at Santiago Bernabeu. However, they need to get down from cloud nine immediately, with Cagliari up today away from home.
Michael Fabbri will be the referee and according to Transfermarkt, he has officiated ten games involving Milan before. In these, Milan have six wins, two draws and two defeats, with the most recent being the 2-1 win against Spezia in November 2022.
Olivier Giroud was the hero then with a late winner, but it’s clear that it has been a while since Fabbri officiated a Milan game. There are a couple of ‘bad incidents’ involving the referee and Milan, such as a game against Juventus in 2019, but overall he has been decent it must be said.
Francesco Camarda will play from the first minute tonight, which is exciting, and it remains to be seen how he will handle the physical duels against the strong centre-backs. This will be something for Fabbri to keep an eye on.
