The partying incident that Cristian Calderón was involved in not only cost him ground and money at Chivas, but it’s also cost him his place in the Mexican national team.
According to Record, the left-back, that had been considered on previous occasions by manager Tata Martino for friendly matches, will not be chosen for their upcoming friendlies against the Czech Republic and Greece, which will take place in the United States.
In addition, Record is reporting that Martino is also not convinced by Calderón’s role as a left-back and is supported by his coaching staff in his opinion that the player has some serious shortcomings.
Calderón has earned four caps for the national team, all under Martino, and was very involved during Mexico’s Nations League group-stage run.
Uriel Antuna has also been punished for a lack of discipline, however, it appears that Martino will still select him for the March friendlies.
