Mexico is one of the heavy favorites to win the Gold Cup out of the four remaining teams in the competition and is the heavy favorite in this match. El Tri finished first in Group A of the tournament with nine points and defeated Costa Rica in the quarterfinals.
Mexico did not have it easy against Costa Rica as El Tri‘s victory came via a penalty shootout. However, Gerardo Martino’ team did play well against Los Ticos with a good showing by the backline and by players like Raul Jimenez, Edson Alvarez and Rodolfo Pizarro.
Haiti has been one of the surprises of this 2019 Gold Cup as it finished first in Group B with nine points. Les Bicolores defeated Canada in the quarterfinals in what proved to be a very impressive comeback win.
Canada was winning the game 2-0 and Haiti went on to score three goals in the second half to win the match 3-2 and make this semifinal match. Some of the standouts for Les Grenadiers include players like Duckens Nazon and Frantzdy Pierrot, who have scored two goals each in this tournament.
FutnSoccer predicts a dominant 3-1 win for Mexico as despite Haiti’s success, there is still a substantial difference between both rosters.
