Following the Copa America 2024 draw, the Mexico national team and Jamie Lozano can now begin preparations for the international tournament starting in mid-June.

El Tri, who recently brought home the 2023 Gold Cup as they took down Panama 1-0 in the final, didn't receive the kindest draw for their Group B opponents.

Mexico will kick-off their Copa America journey with a June 22 clash against Jamaica at NRG Stadium in Houston, Texas. Jaime 'Jimmy' Lozano's side toppled Jamaica 3-0 in the Gold Cup semifinals, and they should have enough in them to get off to a fast start in their opening game in the competition.

However, their next two opponents will prove to be tougher opposition than Jamaica. Their second clash of the tournament comes against Venezuela on June 26 at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California. Venezuela might not be the flashiest team on the surface, but playing against the likes of Chile and Brazil has only made them better and harder to come up against for any side.

Lozano's side will wrap up their group stage on June 30 at State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Arizona, as they take on Ecuador. Ecuador recently impressed all at the 2022 World Cup as they were so close to reaching the Round of 16 after their best efforts in the group stage.

Ecuador will provide the same level of difficulty as Venezuela for Mexico, and it will be anything but easy, but El Tri will get the job done one way or another.

Given how Mexico have fallen off a bit in the last few international breaks with Lozano at the helm, the team will be eager to start fast and on the right foot next summer. With the likes of Santiago Gimenez, Edson Alvarez and hopefully Hirving 'Chuchy' Lozano leading the charge, Mexico will be expected to win at least two out of their three group stage contests to qualify for the quarterfinals of Copa America.
