A full house in Los Angeles was on hand to see Mexico or Panama reclaim the United States’ Gold Cup crown.

After both sides traded chances on the break, Mexico looked to have found their way in front through a superb Henry Martín strike from close-range, but the goal was chalked off due to offside after a VAR check.

It was much of the same after the break, as both sides created a flurry of scoring opportunities in transition, and it was Mexico who snatched it at the death.

While the game appeared to be heading towards extra-time, a crack in the Panama defense allowed Santi Giménez in behind to slot home and snatch put one hand on the Gold Cup trophy for El Tri.

The dramatic win sees Mexico collect their ninth Gold Cup triumph, and first since 2019.
