In the final years of his professional career, Barcelona midfielder Sergio Busquets is prioritizing his family with respect to making a transfer decision.

The veteran midfielder’s contract with the Blaugrana ends at the end of the season and while Xavi personally wants his captain to continue, the final decision rests with the 34-year-old.

In that regard, Spanish publication Mundo Deportivo has said that Busquets currently has three options at his disposal.

The first one is of course a renewal with Barcelona, the second is moving to the Major League Soccer to play for Inter Miami and lastly, the prospect of playing in Saudi Arabia.

For now, the midfielder is preferring his continuity with Barcelona or moving to the MLS. Interestingly enough, moving to Saudi does not attract him much and whatever decision he will take will largely be influenced by a certain Lionel Messi.

Busquets, who is currently on a break due to the international window, is expected to meet with his trusted people to talk about his future. The roadmap will be decided by keeping his family in mind and not the money he will be pocketing.

On the other hand, the future of Lionel Messi will play a vital role in his decision. It must be remembered that Messi and Busquets have a very good friendship. In fact, their partners also get along with each other very well.

The Barcelona icons have been planning to spend their final playing years together. This idea has been discussed between the duo on a few occasions in recent months.

For now, Messi’s idea is to continue playing in Europe for another year and for that, he can either continue playing with PSG or can return to Barcelona.

For that matter, moving back to Barcelona is actually very complicated both from the sporting perspective and from the financial standpoint. If Messi does end up in Barcelona, there is no doubt that Busquets will accept Barcelona’s offer.

Furthermore, even if Messi stays in Paris, the midfielder will not think much to stay at Barcelona for at least one more season. At the moment, Messi is expected is to delay his decision but Busquets does not have this liberty, as if he marks his exit, Barcelona will have to sign a replacement.

It is understood that Barcelona are still at the top of Busquets’ priority but there is also an offer from Inter Miami and from Saudi Arabia, teams such as Al-Nassr, Al-Hilal and Al-Shabab are waiting for an answer.
