Barcelona have played home to some of the finest footballers in history.
And arguably the greatest of them all, Lionel Messi, spent the majority of his glittering career dazzling supporters at Camp Nou.
For 17 glorious years, the diminutive Argentine played football from a different planet while wearing Barcelona‘s famous jersey.
In 776 games across all competitions, Messi rippled the back of the an astonishing 670 times, the most goals ever scored by a player for one single club in the history of the beautiful game.
It’s a record that will almost certainly remain intact for decades to come.
Messi is Barcelona’s leading goalscorer by over 400 goals. The closest player to him according to Transfermarkt is Cesar Rodriguez, who has 226 to his name.
Madness, right?
Unsurprisingly, Messi also ranks very highly in terms of goals-per-game for Barcelona, although he doesn’t take top spot in that regard.
In fact, the seven-time Ballon d’Or winner has to make do with a fourth-place finish.
We know, it’s a bit of a shock.

That’s a pretty familiar face sitting top of the pile, isn’t it?
In his one season with Barcelona, Ronaldo was ludicrously good. He won the 1996/97 European Golden Shoe, before going on to lift both the Ballon d’Or and FIFA World Player of the Year in 1997.
