The World Cup begins on the weekend and so many big names will be in action.

It could well be Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo‘s last appearances at a World Cup.

The two legends will be looking to lead their respective nations to glory in Qatar.

Neymar headlines a star-studded Brazil side, while world-class players including Robert Lewandowski, Kylian Mbappe and Karim Benzema will all participate.

But who is the best player at this year’s World Cup?

ESPN have asked television analysts, reporters, columnists, producers and editors from across the world to vote on who they believe to be the best players participating in Qatar.

They have compiled the results and listed the 50 best players that will be playing at this year’s tournament. View the final rankings below…

The 50 best players at the Qatar World Cup

50. Andre Onana (Cameroon)

49. Kalidou Koulibaly (Senegal)

Mbappe has been named the best player at this World Cup, ahead of compatriot in 2022 Ballon d’Or winner, Benzema.

De Bruyne just about pips Messi to the podium places.

Lewandowski makes the top five, with Neymar, Modric, Vinicius and Courtois also in the top 10.

Mane suffered an injury prior to the World Cup and a statement has confirmed he will miss Senegal’s first games. Whether he will play any part in Qatar remains to be seen.
