Lionel Messi recently made history during this international window after the Paris Saint-Germain star scored his 800th professional goal and the veteran goal scorer made history again.

As part of his hat-trick, the 35-year-old scored in Argentina’s 7-0 victory against Curaçao on Tuesday night at Estadio Único Madre de Ciudades; the Argentine did score his 100th goal with the national team.

Messi started the goal-scoring fest with his strike midway through the first half, as it was another celebrational night for the South American nation. Furthermore, the veteran continues to increase the number of goals he’s scored for Argentina, as he currently sits at 102.

While the PSG forward celebrates these last few days with the country after winning the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar last December, he’ll need to begin focusing on his future.

The Rosario native’s contract expires in June and he’ll need to consider where he’ll continue his career should there be no extension with the French giants. It’s reported Messi wants to remain in Europe for another season, opening the door for an FC Barcelona return.

However, the financial situation surrounding the Spanish club could be a significant hurdle.
