Barcelona jumped into second place in LaLiga after beating Sevilla 2-0 at the Ramon Sanchez-Pizjuan Stadium.

Goals from Ousmane Dembélé and Lionel Messi were enough to secure victory against the in-form hosts.

With Barcelona dominating possession early on, their first opportunity came through Ousmane Dembélé who saw his curling effort saved by goalkeeper Bono.

But Dembele would eventually put Barça ahead after springing the offside trap brilliantly when Lionel Messi played him through, finishing well with his ‘weaker’ left foot.

The visitors almost doubled their lead after half time when Frenkie de Jong crossed for Jordi Alba, who was only inches away from tapping in from close range.

Sergiño Dest hit the post and Messi fired over uncharacteristically, before Sevilla nearly caught them cold with a thumping header from Sergio Escudero.

Messi secured all three points late on after waltzing through the Nervionenses defence, scrapping home after his initial shot was saved by Bono.
