Messi confirms PSG exit after club back-pedals on Galtier's statement

Nobody will honestly know what’s happening with Lionel Messi’s future until a statement arrives, but the man himself has finally spoken out.

After Paris Saint-Germain manager Christophe Galtier said the World Cup winner would play his last game against Clermont Foot on Saturday.

The club then backpedalled, claiming the boss “misspoke” about the topic but it seems he will, in fact, depart after discussing the matter in an interview on Saturday.

“I’m very happy to have been able to represent PSG,” Messi told ESPN.

“I really enjoyed playing in this team and with such good players. I want to thank the club for a wonderful experience in Paris.”

Messi has been linked with a move to Saudi Arabia or potentially a return to Barcelona, while MLS side Inter Miami also are keen to grab his signature.
