Lionel Messi and Inter Miami dropped points for the first time in MLS since the Argentine legend joined in July. Here is what went down in south Florida.
Like in the Leagues Cup Final, Nashville did well to keep Leo Messi and Miami at bay.
The visitors from Tennessee sat in a low block in their own half, looking to hit Miami on the break to stun the home crowd.
It was an uneventful first half, but the drama was raised after the break when Nashville appeared to snatch the lead on the break through Hany Mukhtar, but the German was narrowly offside in the buildup, seeing the scoreline remain untouched.
While Messi pushed his side on to find a winner in the dying minutes, the resolute Nashville rearguard had other plans for the resurgent Herons.
Failing to find a winner and pick up all three points, Miami will need to close a 10 point gap on ninth place in their final 10 games of the MLS campaign to sneak their way into the playoffs.
