Real Madrid will welcome Braga at the Santiago Bernabeu Stadium this Wednesday night as they try to secure a positive result at home in the UEFA Champions League. Los Blancos were held to a frustrating 0-0 draw against Rayo Vallecano recently, so they would be eager to get back to winning ways in midweek.

Carlo Ancelotti will set his men up in a 4-3-1-2 formation and could name a strong first XI for this game. Ferland Mendy and Rodrygo could both get an opportunity to play from the start of this game.

Defence

Kepa Arrizabalaga will operate in between the sticks for Los Blancos after keeping a clean sheet in his last appearance. David Alaba will resume his defensive partnership with Antonio Rudiger at the centre of Real Madrid’s backline as they focus on keeping things tidy on the defensive third of the pitch.

Dani Carvajal will continue to function as the right-back while Ferland Mendy hopes to prove his worth on the other flank as the left-back. Both of them would be eager to catch the eye out in the wide areas.

Nacho will provide cover for the defensive positions on the bench.

Midfield

Toni Kroos, Eduardo Camavinga and Federico Valverde will make up Ancelotti’s midfield as they look to establish their dominance over the opposition at the centre of the park.

Rodrygo could get a chance to impress in the number ten position. He would have to carry most of the creative workload for Los Blancos in the final third.

Luka Modric and Toni Kroos will have to settle for a spot on the bench as they wait for their chance to make an impact in the second 45 minutes if asked to do so.

Attack

Vinicius Jr. and Joselu will lead the charge for the Madrid giants up top. They would both need to figure out a way to threaten the Braga goal during the 90 minutes.

Brahim Diaz will be available for selection on the bench and might come on to influence the game in the final quarter if Los Blancos are in need of a goal by then.
