MEN: Why Milan’s resurgence provides Ten Hag with perfect ‘blueprint’ for Man Utd | OneFootball

An interesting report from England has urged Manchester United and their incoming boss Erik Ten Hag to follow the example of AC Milan.

The Manchester Evening News have written a piece with the following headline: ‘Erik ten Hag has been given Manchester United blueprint by AC Milan’. The report mentions how Milan are top of the table with a game to play and that a draw against Sassuolo will win a first league title in 11 years.

It adds that ‘years of poor transfers and lacklustre managerial appointments’ saw Milan dip out of Europe’s elite in the past few years, but under Pioli they have a ‘strong team’ and the Rossoneri’s ‘recruitment strategy has been spot on’.

The likes of Theo Hernandez, Fiyako Tomori, Mike Maignan and Rafael Leao are cited as key players who they signed and have become key pillars in the Scudetto push, and there are some similarities with United.

The ‘mismanagement’ that Milan suffered over the past decade is akin to the post Sir Alex Ferguson era, while the Diavolo’s ‘progress and potential success should act as a hopeful tale for United fans’.
