Memphis invites Neymar to join Corinthians: “I would like to play with him here” | OneFootball

Memphis Depay still has good contact with Neymar, Voetbal Primeur reports. He revealed this to Brazilian media after the 3-0 victory over Bahia. The Dutchman has also extended an invitation to Neymar, saying that he would like to play with his friend at Corinthians.

Neymar currently plays for Saudi club Al Hilal. However, in recent weeks there have been rumors of a departure, with a return to boyhood club Santos firmly among the names on the rumour mill.

Al Hilal are said to be unhappy due to his many injuries. Since Neymar’s arrival in the summer of 2023, the Brazilian forward has only played seven games for his club, despite earning a princely salary. The striker’s contract also expires this summer.

Memphis has acknowledged Neymar’s previous allegiances, yet in something of a tongue-in-cheek fashion – holds out hope that his club can hijack the romanticised move.

“I know he is for Santos , but I would like to play with him at Corinthians. He is an inspiration to many. I wish him the best and hope he ends up somewhere where he is happy.”
