TSG Hoffenheim has filled another key position by appointing Melanie Fichtner as its head of IT & digital. The 48-year-old is moving to the Kraichgau from Baywa AG, where she held a similar position. At TSG, where digital innovation has always been a focal point, Fichtner will drive forward the IT and digitisation strategy and increasingly align it with the requirements of a modern and ambitious Bundesliga football club.
"With her many years of experience in the IT sector and in the implementation of digital platforms, Melanie Fichtner will help us to tackle the needs of our fans and partners more consistently," said Frank Briel, the managing director for finance. In this context, he considers the further development of the digital fan experience in particular to be "of fundamental importance".
Melanie Fichtner explained: "As an equal partner, IT can make a valuable contribution to providing the operational units with the best possible support in their processes and daily tasks. Pooling knowledge generates increased efficiency and makes the entire club more agile and more successful when it comes to the implementation of its strategies."
