Mehdi Loune set for long spell on sidelines

The 19-year-old midfielder tore the cruciate ligament in his left knee during an U21 training session and will be unavailable for an indefinite period.

Loune will undergo surgery on Monday 26 June before beginning his recovery. The U21s, for whom Loune played a major role in their promotion to the Regionalliga Southwest, started their preparations for the 2023/24 campaign earlier this week, but Kristjan Glibo’s team will now have to make do without the Frankfurt native for several months.
