Unsatisfied with the finishing exploits of forward duo Rasmus Hojlund and Joshua Zirkzee, Manchester United are seemingly considering dipping into the market in January to bolster Ruben Amorim’s options.
As such, they’ve found themselves linked with numerous centre-forwards across Europe, including Christopher Nkunku, Liam Delap, and, more recently, Victor Osimhen.
Following his transfer debacle with Napoli over the summer, the 26-year-old eventually signed for Galatasaray on a season-long loan deal at the beginning of September. Expectedly, his prolific goalscoring form has only continued when representing the Super Lig outfit, which has led to him being lauded as the ‘best striker in Turkey’.

Sanctioning any big-money deals mid-season seems ludicrous, given INEOS’ severe cost-cutting endeavours as of late. However, United may receive a significant cash injection if they’re able to find a suitor for the outcast Marcus Rashford, who has been left out of Amorim’s squad for four successive matches.
With that in mind, Turkish outlet Fanatik claims the Red Devils have now ‘held a meeting with Napoli’ in order to gauge their asking price for Osimhen – despite Galatasaray making it clear that they want to keep him until the end of the campaign, as agreed.
The Nigerian international has already notched 12 goals and five assists in only 15 appearances across all competitions. What’s even more impressive is that there are only two league games thus far that Osimhen has featured in without returning a goal contribution.
He’s long been linked with a move to Old Trafford in recent years, though whether 2025 will be the year a deal finally comes to fruition between all parties remains to be seen. The United faithful certainly wouldn’t say no.
