Liam Delap will undergo his Chelsea medical on Sunday ahead of a £30m switch to Stamford Bridge according to Ben Jacobs.
Chelsea reached an agreement on with Ipswich on Thursday for Delap and the 22-year-old will become Enzo Maresca’s first summer signing.
The Blues are set for another busy summer and could look to fund their business by selling as many as seven or eight players.
Chelsea have paid the price for failing to sign an alternative to Nicolas Jackson both last summer and in January, but they’ve moved quickly to address that.
Delap impressed in his first season in the Premier League scoring 12 goals and Maresca knows the striker well having coached him in the Manchester City academy.

Maresca has publicly praised Delap on a number of occasions this season and the forward will add a much needed extra dimension to Chelsea’s attack.
It had been reported Delap would undergo his medical on Monday, but Jacobs has provided an update on the situation.
He took to X.com on Sunday morning and said:
“Liam Delap undergoing his Chelsea medical today.”
Chelsea are expected to ask Delap to choose the Club World Cup over representing England at the European Under-21 Championships.
With Delap through the door the question now is whether Chelsea will look to sign another striker in the window.
The links to Hugo Ekitike won’t go away and Frankfurt are said to want €100m for the 22-year-old who scored 22 goals this season.
