James McArthur of Crystal Palace can count himself very lucky tonight.

He somehow avoided a red card for a malicious kick on Arsenal’s Bukayo Saka.

As the ball was dropping from the sky, he aimed a reckless volley into the calf of the England international.

Referee Mike Dean chose not to take his red card out and although VAR did look at the incident, no more came of it.

Certainly a surprise.
