As reported by Foot Mercato, Bordeaux forward M’Baye Niang saw interest from two Serie A clubs at the end of the transfer window despite only joining Bordeaux in the summer from Rennes.
Relegation-threatened pair Genoa and Salernitana approached Bordeaux over a loan deal with an option to buy for the 27-year-old Senegalese international striker who contributed to 31 goals in 107 Serie A games for Torino, AC Milan and Genoa between the 2012/13 season and the 2017/18 campaign.
Niang, however, rejected the approaches out of hand despite struggling for game time at Bordeaux so far having added just one Ligue 1 goal in ten outings as Hwang Ui-jo and Alberth Elis continue to be preferred by Vladimir Petkovic.
