With the release of FIFA 23 coming nearer and nearer, fans have been getting increasingly excited at playing what will be the last ‘FIFA’ game under its iconic title.

And what is always one of the biggest debates at release time is that of player ratings. Seeing who has been downgraded, who has been upgraded, and whose card stands out from the rest is almost as big a deal as actually playing the game!

And EA have certainly not calmed the hot conversation about player ratings for FIFA 23, by releasing the top 20 list of fastest players in the game on their website, and some of the inclusions will shock you.

So, without further ado, let’s take a look at who are the fastest players on the latest edition of FIFA.

Mbappe tops the list

Many surprises appear, with a total of four silver cards impressively making the top 20 list, with Alex Bangura of SC Cambuur having the lowest overall rating of 69, while boasting a frightening pace stat of 94.

However, many familiar faces appear in the list also, with Bayern Munich’s Alphonso Davies, Real Madrid’s Vinicius Jr. and Barcelona’s Ousmane Dembele all making the list as dangerous players to burst down the flanks with.

Two Premier League players rank within the top five fastest players in the game, with Fulham’s (on loan from Leeds United) Daniel James and Wolves’ Adama Traore both being given pace stats of 95 and 96 respectively.

Meanwhile, the top spot unsurprisingly is claimed by Paris Saint-Germain and France superstar Kylian Mbappe, beating Adama Traore to the number one spot with an immense pace stat of 97.

The 23-year-old striker also shares the honour of having the highest overall player rating ranking in the game, with Karim Benzema, Robert Lewandowski, Kevin De Bruyne and Lionel Messi all being given the same overall rating of 91 as the World Cup winner.

So, there’s some serious pace to be played with on the new FIFA, and Ultimate Team fans will be reading such rankings avidly to decide who to put in their new teams to outrun their opponents!

FIFA 23 launches on September 30, 2022 and is available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, PC, Stadia, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
