The league leaders looked to extend the gap at the top of the table and took control of the game against the fifth-placed visitors but found themselves in a frustrating situation.
Despite dominating possession and having stars Lionel Messi and Kylian Mbappé lead the line, PSG lacked in their finishing skills and failed to register any shots on target for most of the match.
The Frenchman came the closest to breaking the deadlock but saw an effort hit off the woodwork before eventually having the ball in the net in the second half only for it to be ruled offside.
Mauricio Pochettinoâs side continued to ramp up the pressure throughout the match as the likes of Mauro Icardi, Ăngel Di MarĂa, and Gini Wijnaldum came off the bench.
And eventually, they found a way to crack Rennes as Messi teed up Mbappé deep into injury time to see the hosts keep hold of three points.
