Mbappe: Chelsea defender Thiago Silva greatest ever seen at PSG | OneFootball

PSG ace Kylian Mbappe has paid tribute to Chelsea defender Thiago Silva.

Thiago Silva left PSG after the Champions League final to sign for Chelsea as a free agent.

The Brazilian, now 36, spent eight years with PSG - the last three alongside France World Cup winner Mbappe. And the stopper leaves the Parc des Princes with his former teammate's admiration.

Indeed for Mbappe, no defender has been better in PSG's colours than Thiago Silva.

Asked about his favourite centre-halves, Mbappe, quoted by Le 10 Sport, stated: "Central defenders? Thiago Silva and Mario Yepes.

"Thiago Silva because for me he is the best defender in the history of the club with everything he has brought.

"He stayed a long time here."

Over his eight years with the Parisians, Thiago Silva won seven Ligue 1 titles, was a five-time Coupe de France winner and a six-time Coupe de la Ligue winner.

Meanwhile Yepes, who was also mentioned by Mbappe, had four years with PSG between 2004 and 2008 - well before Mbappe's time. The former Colombia international, 44, is now an active coach in his home country.
