The French national team has called up Paris Saint-Germain talents Kylian Mbappe and Presnel Kimpembe for November international fixtures, the association announced on Thursday.
France is in the final stretch run of the 2020-2021 UEFA Nations League group stage round. Les Blues currently stand at second-place in its Nations League Group A3. France is set to face both Portugal and Sweden in its final Nations League group stage fixtures of this competition. If France is able to win both contests, it will progress into the knockout stage.
France will also face Finland in a friendly fixture next week, which could likely provide French national team manager Didier Deschamps with an opportunity to give playing time to some of his reserve players.
Kimpembe is slated to earn a start or two over both of France’s Nations League fixtures. Mbappe’s status for both pivotal games is currently unclear. He is still dealing with issues to his hamstring, so there may be a possibility that Deschamps will have to bench the PSG superstar for the fixtures.
