Kylian Mbappe is a victim of his own astronomical standards. The levels he hit during his time at Paris Saint-Germain make it look like his start to life at Real Madrid has been sub-par when it has actually not been half as bad.
The Real Madrid megastar is only getting better with every passing game and his back-to-back goals against Barcelona and Celta Vigo only show how his confidence is on the rise.
In fact, his goal against the Galicians was special because it was his first in the Copa del Rey and it also unlocked a new achievement for the Frenchman.
With his latest goal for Real Madrid coming in the Spanish Cup, Mbappe has now scored in all six competitions that the Merengues have played so far this season marking a special achievement in his first season at the club.
He first scored in the team’s UEFA Super Cup win over Atalanta on his debut and netted his first league goal against Real Betis at the Santiago Bernabeu.

Mbappe’s first UEFA Champions League goal came against VfB Stuttgart in September and he then extended his run to four competitions by scoring in the Intercontinental Cup final against Pachuca.
2025 unlocked new competitions for the club and Mbappe scored against Barcelona in the Spanish Super Cup to make it the fifth competition with a goal.
Now having scored in the Copa del Rey, he has completed a ‘sextet’ of goals in competitions in a single season.
Only one player has achieved this feat before for Real Madrid – Karim Benzema, during the 2022/23 season, and it is poetic that the next player to hit the milestone is also French.
Notably, however, Mbappe can do his compatriot one better as the club are set to play in the Club World Cup next summer and a goal there will make it seven competitions he has scored in.
