Chivas goalkeeper Raúl Gudiño is reportedly in talks with Liga MX newboys Mazatlán FC as he looks to increase his playing opportunities.

Gudiño is back up to first-choice stopper Antonio ‘Toño’ Rodríguez at the Flock, and is looking for a move – either permanently or on loan – to gain more experience at the top level.

For their part, Chivas seem happy to let the 24-year-old spread his wings.

Gudiño had been linked with Pumas and Nexaca in recent weeks, but Goal are reporting that Mazatlán have now stolen a march in the race for his signature.

Mazatlán are a controversial addition to the top flight.

They were Monarcas of Morelia for 70 years until their owners were granted formal permission earlier this week to move the club 750km north to Mazatlán on the Pacific coast.

With Monarcas’ previous goalkeepers Sebastián Sosa and Luis Malagón both set to move on, Mazatlán are in desperate need of a number one.

Should Gudiño make the move to the new Sinaloan outfit, Chivas are likely to welcome back Miguel Jiménez.

He has been on loan with Tampico Madero in the Ascenso MX, and his return would provide cover for Rodríguez in the Liga MX Apertura.
