Erling Haaland’s agent Rafaela Pimenta has addressed the forward’s future at Manchester City and the kind of financial package that could prise him away from the Etihad Stadium.

Haaland has been an absolute sensation in the north-west of England since his reported £51 million move to City from Borussia Dortmund last summer.

The Norway international, who is amongst the club’s highest earners, has netted 31 times in 27 appearances across all competitions for the Premier League champions.

With 25 strikes in 19 league outings, the Leeds-born attacker is on the verge of breaking scoring record previously set in England should be continue to score at anywhere near the same rate he has been bagging so far this season.

The existence of a €200 million release clause in Haaland’s bumper Manchester City contract, which can be activated from the summer of 2024 onwards and whose value depreciates with every passing season, has been confirmed by some media outlets in recent months.

Haaland has already been linked with possible moves to the likes of Real Madrid and Barcelona at some point before his current deal in east Manchester expires in 2027.

The striker’s camp is spearheaded by his father Alf-Inge Haaland and agent Rafaela Pimenta, a close associate of the late Mino Raiola, who helped broker the Norwegian’s move to Borussia Dortmund from Red Bull Salzburg in December 2019.

With no shortage of potential suitors for Haaland in the near future, Pimenta spoke about what the future could hold for arguably the hottest property in world football in an interview with Spanish daily AS earlier this week.

“My hope is that he is always happy wherever he (Haaland) is. And today he is very happy at (Manchester) City,” the Brazilian lawyer said.

“Tomorrow, we’ll have to think about it. It is not positive for a footballer to play one season thinking about the next. It’s like you start thinking about your next woman the day you get married (laughs). Today, Haaland is ‘married’ (to Manchester City).”

Refusing to comment on the existence of a release clause entered into Haaland’s current Manchester City contract, Pimenta went on to discuss what sort of fee would her client warrant in the event of a departure from the Etihad Stadium.

Pimenta said: “For me, (Erling) Haaland is worth 1,000 million. Maybe nobody is going to pay that, but he has the potential he has when he arrives at a club.

“With it come fans, goals, results, professionalism, digital content, notoriety, sponsors. If you put all this together, his value is an aggregate of many things.

“But the price of a footballer is actually set by a club. I know that nobody is going to pay 700 million for a player, but I am very clear that the value that Erling (Haaland) adds when he arrives at a club is immense – at least 1,000 million.”

Haaland is expected to lead the line for Pep Guardiola’s side when Manchester City make the trip down to north London to face Tottenham on Sunday.
