Minnesota United have officially moved on from star Designated Player Emanuel Reynoso. The star attacking midfielder has been transferred to Liga MX side Club Tijuana. The 28 year old Argentine has been arguably one of the best players on the field in Major League Soccer since his arrival in 2020. However, with some alleged off the field issues, Reynoso’s consistency hasn’t always been there for the Loons.

Reynoso finishes his career with Minnesota United with a total of 101 games, 27 goals, and 29 assists played across 8,071 minutes. He currently is Minnesota’s all time assist leader with 29 assists across all competitions. Reynoso was even named an All Star back in 2022 for MLS. However, with some absences from the organization, Minnesota decided to move on from one of the greatest on field talents in their organization’s history.

Reynoso will not move on to Tijuana in Liga MX to get his career back on track. Minnesota United now have the opportunity to move in a different direction under brand new Chief Soccer Office Khaled El-Ahmed and brand new Manager Eric Ramsay. Currently on their roster Minnesota has two of their three DP spots filled with Robin Lod and Teemu Pukki. This now gives the Loons an exciting opportunity to bring in more talent in either a third DP, or, with the potential for a third and fourth U22 Initiative players. This summer should be an interesting one for Minnesota United as they currently sit 4th in the Western Conference. This team has been an impressive one in 2024, and with the right talent brought in, could fight for the top of their conference.
