Manchester City have updated their Champions League squad list ahead of the knock-out rounds of the tournament, and the conclusion of the January transfer window.

While the market was largely quiet for City and Etihad officials, there were two significant alterations to their first-team playing squad, mainly the exit of mainstay full-back Joao Cancelo towards the end of the window.

The Portugal international secured an initial six-month loan move to Bayern Munich as he seeks consistent game time for the remainder of the season, with the Bundesliga giants holding a €70 million option to buy in the summer.

As for arrivals, City only secured the services of one player in Argentina under-20 international midfielder Maximo Perrone, who arrives at the club on a permanent deal from Velez Sarsfield.

While the young, exciting talent is only expected to train with the first-team squad for the remainder of the season and not necessarily challenge Rodri and Kalvin Phillips, the club have named him in their Premier League and Champions League squad lists for the second-half of the campaign.

With that confirmation has also seemingly come the reveal of Perrone’s Manchester City shirt number, as per the official UEFA website listing the club’s squad roster ahead of a double-header with RB Leipzig in the last-16.

According to the UEFA website, Maximo Perrone has become Manchester City’s new number 32 – following in the footsteps of Argentina football legend and City hero Carlos Tevez.
