Scudetto winner with Milan, Stefano Pioli’s name was earlier struck off by the Giallorossi from this shortlist. The names currently on the list now include Ajax’s Francesco Farioli, Genoa’s Patrick Vieira, Atalanta boss Gian Piero Gasperini, former Barca man Xavi and Como’s Cesc Fabregas, although the Spaniard is being quoted by Bayer Leverkusen.

The first three from the list are waiting to end the season with their respective clubs, while Xavi has been a free agent since leaving Barcelona.

Claudio Ranieri is set to play a key role in selecting Roma’s new manager and a final call will be taken soon with the conclusion of the season.
