Juventus boss Max Allegri has stated that the team remain in line with the objectives set for the season despite their loss to Udinese in the Serie A recently.

The Bianconeri had the chance to cut the gap between them and Inter to four points on Monday but they conceded a goal from Lautaro Giannetti in the 25th minute and their performance was a rather blunt one, allowing Inter to go seven players clear while having a game in hand.

Juve are also one point ahead of Milan in the Serie A table now, with teams having played the same number of games. Allegri spoke about the defeat in the post-game press conference and stated that the Bianconeri are in line with their season objectives, despite the loss.

He said (via TMW): “The approach was good, we had some difficulties. Making small talk at this moment is of no use, it’s a moment in which we need to reset, quickly reach the Champions League quota and play in the semi-final of the Italian Cup. At the moment we are in line with the objectives of the season, the most important thing was to stay attached to a team built to win. We tried to stay on top of them, but that doesn’t mean we give everything up for lost.”

Allegri’s comments state that qualifying for the top four is the club’s goal and he has also spoken about that in the past, emphasising on their goal despite them being in a title race. A case can be made of the fact that their title charge is quickly diminishing.
