Despite being the older brother of former América star Diego, who is now at Real Betis, it appears that Las Aguilas does not run in the bloodline.
“Who would not like to play for Chivas? It’s a great team of Mexican football, where every player in this country would like to be,” Lainez answered in an interview with ESPN.
The 22-year-old joined Lobos from Pachuca last season but is on an expiring deal and is expected to field a number of offers from other Liga MX sides.
Lainez has scored four goals and added a pair of assists in 25 Liga MX matches during the 2018-19 Liga MX season.
