Mauro Icardi will be consigned to the scrapheap when Inter begin preseason training under Antonio Conte, according to Corriere dello Sport.

The forward has been called up to the camp in Lugano as the Nerazzurri wait for developments concerning his future.

Icardi will take part in Inter’s fitness drills but is expected to sit out the tactical exercises Conte will oversee.

It remains to be seen whether he would be open to changing his mind about leaving Inter if Conte told him in person at the start of the week.

Maurito’s entourage remain rigid in their opposition to moving abroad, but they are not willing to even consider a move to Napoli or Roma either.

The only possible destination at the moment appears to be Juventus, with reports circling last night about a meeting between Wanda Nara and sporting director Fabio Paratici in Ibiza.

Both parties denied the meeting took place but it is known Juve are strongly interested at signing Icardi for the right price.
