Lazio coach Maurizio Sarri was far from happy with the behavior of his players against Atromitos, and he was particularly furious with Taty Castellanos.
In their final pre-season test, the Biancocelesti played against the Greek top-flight club in Rieti on Saturday, but the contest was only a friendly in name. The Italian capital side prevailed thanks to two goals from Tijjani Noslin and Pedro in the last 15 minutes. However, the match will be remembered for the unsavory action that ensued in the first period.

Matteo Guendouzi was the main protagonist in the first brawl, but the referee quelled the incident by brandishing a couple of yellow cards. Nevertheless, the match official stood helplessly when the second brawl erupted a few minutes later, with Castellanos and Mansur acting as the main protagonists, before being joined by their teammates and the two sets of benches.
The Lazio star and the Atromitos defender received their marching orders, making it a 10-vs-10 contest, before resuming their spat in the tunnel, much to Sarri’s dismay. According to Il Messaggero (via La Lazio Siamo Noi), the veteran tactician gave his striker an old-fashioned locker-room scolding after taking him aside.
As the source notes, this incident wasn’t an isolated case, as Castellanos has a knack for losing his temper and causing havoc on the pitch. Last season, the 26-year-old displayed a similar demeanor against Empoli when he was left frustrated by Devis Vasquez’s time-wasting. He also clashed heads with Mats Hummels in the Derby della Capitale, as well as Cagliari’s Yerry Mina.
