Maurizio Sarri says Derby della Capitale ‘more important’ than Champions League matches

Lazio boss Maurizio Sarri highlighted the importance of the Derby della Capitale in his post-match presser after his side’s win over Genoa.

The Biancocelesti beat the Grifoni on Tuesday which enables them to advance to the Coppa Italia quarter-finals where they could potentially meet city rivals Roma – Mourinho’s team must first beat Cremonese.

When asked about his most memorable games with Lazio in his three years in the Italian capital, Sarri is quoted by lalaziosiamonoi.it as having said, “The games you remember most are when you win the Derby. It’s more important than winning Champions League matches.”
