Mauricio Pochettino rejected any suggestion that his Paris Saint-Germain side lacked effort in Sunday’s 2-2 draw with Troyes.

Les Parisiens have already wrapped up the Ligue 1 title with games to spare, so it would be understandable if they were to take their foot off the gas in the remaining fixtures.

Marquinhos gave the hosts at early lead at the Parc des Princes, before Neymar doubled their advantage from the spot.

However Iké Ugbo pulled one back on the half-hour, and then a converted Florian Tardieu penalty shortly after the break ensured the points would be shared.

Afterwards Pochettino defended his side’s performance against Troyes, who are still not guaranteed their top-flight status for next season.

“We started the match well, then we made two errors which cost us two goals,” the PSG boss said.

“I think we still created more than Troyes. We deserved a little more luck tonight. We may have missed this tension of the competition.

“The objective was to win the Championship, it’s done. Now you have to respect the competition, and I think we did.”
